This poem was created from a old biology lab. This lab was focused around using dissection techniques to open animals and observe body features. This class in particular is hard for me, and really tends to make me angry. So whilst looking for something that I could make into a found poem that really has an emotional impact on my life I chose bio.
My lab got repurposed to highlight the effects of human impacts on animal life. For instance we poke prod and cut animals for research testing and learning. This poem was written to show the Cruelty of academia and to stand out against the harm of animals.
This poem is ment to be said slow and choppy to give the words impact. The poem can also be read withought pause also creating the message. In the poem a certain section is pasted to the page diagonally which makes some of the poem hard to read. This was done on purpose to represent the open section of a wound damaged and an hard to look at.

Hunter I really like your inspiration behind this project. As someone else who personally struggles in biology i understand your frustrations with this topic in particular and i agree that although the dissection was for learning purposes it was cruel and inhumane for us to dissect these animals for selfish purposes. Your poem is very powerful and shows how detrimental this practice is to animals life. Being that i also did this dissection i was a little disturbed by the process and kind of grossed out so i totally relate to your feelings.
