Introduction to Multicultural Literature

My name is Deanna Phillips but my friends call me Dee. I am a second-semester freshman at Cortland and is majoring in English. I am from Long Island Ny Nassau County. I played Volleyball in Highschool and softball for fun. I am thinking about joining the women’s Volleyball team here at Cortland hopefully! I like to take naps and go to the gym on my free time. Im looking forward to getting to know everyone. I am exited to see what I can take away from this class.

My name is Dayna Hovancik and I am a junior here at Cortland. I am majoring in psychology and I have two minors in sociology and forensics. I am from the Binghamton NY area, about 50 minutes from here. I am the secretary for the Women’s Club Soccer team here at Cortland. I actually originally attended University at Buffalo my freshman year but then transferred here sophomore year. I really enjoy reading so I am looking forward to see what this class has in store.

My name is Aidan Aguirre. I am from Hicksville which is a town in Nassua County, Long Island. I am currently on the Cortland Men’s Track and field team where I mainly compete in sprints. In my free time I also enjoy playing the violin, I actually just joined the community orchestra on campus. I am Colombian and Irish but Colombian food has to be my favorite. I like sports, watching Netflix and spending time with friends. Finally, realistic fiction is my favorite genre to read!

My name is Chris Lee and I am sophomore that just transferred this semester. I grew up in Highland, New York but I went to school in Alabama for electrical engineering for many reasons, one including that is where my dad lives. After changing my major I decided to come back to New York for physical education and found that Cortland fit everything I was looking for. I am interested in sports and hanging out with friends and am always down to hang out. I look forward to meeting everyone throughout the semester.

What’s up class my name is Logan I’m a freshman and I’m majoring In Physical Education. Im from Albany NY, I love sports and played basically all of them while growing up but my new favorite hobby at the moment is skiing. There’s nothing I hate more than reading a book so I hope I can find some enjoyment during this class.

Hi! My name is Kayla Moody, I’m from Binghamton, NY. I attended SUNY Broome for two years and graduated with my Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences then transferred to SUNY Cortland. I recently changed my Major from Early Childhood Education to Human Services so I can become an in-school social worker. I don’t read very often in my free time but I’m hoping that changes over the course of this class. Back home on breaks, I work at a preschool/summer camp, in my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends and of course my dog, Coco!

Hi, my name is Natalie. I am a freshman here and I’m majoring in English Adolescent Education. I’m from Hempstead, a big town on Long Island. Back at home, I work at a bubble tea stand, and my favorite drink is strawberry milk tea. I have two cats, I like to draw and play video games, and I think cars are really neat.

I am a Sociology Major sophomore here at SUNY Cortland. I don’t really have many interesting facts about myself. I am the last born of a triplet. I like studying Japanese on my own time as well as K-pop dances. I am a part of the Cortland Dance Company here on campus, as well as the SUNY Cortland Gospel Choir, and the newly founded Praise Dance team here on campus, founded by both my sister and I. I am originally from Jamaica and came here 6/7 years ago. I am a Christian. I like K-pop, cats, cute stuff, pastel colours, dancing, and reading. I will advise others who would want to get to know me, APPROACH WITH CAUTION!!! 🙂

Hi. My name is Hunter. I am a freshman BMS major here at Suny Cortland. I am originally from upstate New York, on the borders of Vermont and Massachusetts in a town called Hoosick Falls. I do not like to read and I am a very slow reader. I hope to try to improve these skills throughout this course. My favorite activity to do is play football. I cant wait to get to know each and every one of you. 😁

My name is Paul, and I am from Bellport, NY. I am a sophomore at Suny Cortland. My major is Sport management. I have never been a big reader, but I am hoping that changes over this course. I like playing sports, but my favorite is Hockey which I’ve played my whole life and listening to music in my spare time.
